Cocoa beans have been cultivated and played a role in human cultures since 1,500 B.C. around the globe. Cocoa powder is made by separating the cocoa solids from the fat-rich cocoa liquor. Unsweetened cocoa nut powder offers an intense bitter chocolate flavor and contains many essential nutrients and vitamins that are beneficial to health and may assist with certain conditions. This product may be added to foods and beverages or smoothies and green drinks and is a tannish-brown powder. PFL Non-GMO Pesticide Free powder extracts are not ETO Treated or Gamma Irradiated. Some typically gummy, oily or damp extracts require an anti-caking agent to maintain its powder form. Non-GMO tapioca maltodextrin may be used in as small amounts as possible in this powdered product. If used, PFL will list it on our label.
