Oil Pulling Therapy

Detox Your Mouth, Sinuses, Glands & More

Return to Article List

Oil Pulling ("OP") is reported to cure: Mouth & Gum Disease;  Stiff Joints; Allergies; Asthma; High Blood Sugar; Constipation;  Migraines; Bronchitis; Eczema; Heart, Kidney, Lung Diseases; Leukemia;  Arthritis; Meningitis; Insomnia; Menopause (hormonal issues); Cancer;  AIDS; Chronic Infections; Varicose Veins; High Blood Pressure; Diabetes;  Polio; Cracked Heels.

INSTRUCTIONS AND THEORIES These are instructions from India in which only 2 types of oil can be  used. However, people are experimenting with different oils, adding  anti-bacterial and anti-viral oil essences, like Oil of Oregano.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Step 1 - of the 7 Steps To Miraculous Health

First thing in the morning, before brushing your teeth, eating or drinking, take 1 TBSP of either cold pressed sesame or sunflower oil.  Put the oil in your mouth, tilt your chin up and slowly swish, suck,  chomp and pull through the teeth. Do this for at least 10 minutes. 15 -  20 minutes is better. You want the oil to become a thin, white foam when  you finally spit it out.  If the oil is still yellow, you haven't done  it long enough.

The oil will start to thin out after a few minutes because saliva is  constantly being mixed in and swished about. The longer you swish, the  more saliva will be produced, filling your mouth. When finished, spit it  out in the toilet, so it doesn't clog your sink drain.  It is important  to rinse your mouth out well. I suggest using warm Sea Salt water, it  will kill any lingering bacteria.

I now suggest brushing your teeth with straight Baking Soda. This will nutralize acids, freshen your mouth and whiten your teeth.

You can do this 2 more times during the day if you want to detox faster. However, make sure you do it on an empty stomach for greater results.

Step 2 - of the 7 Steps To Miraculous Health Drink your 24 ounces of HydorProx 35 treated water, as in the manner instructed. This is important because, you have now awakened your body's detox  mechanisms and stirred up all kinds of internal garbage and bacteria.   The water and HydroProx 35 are necessary to help eliminate these excess  toxins and protect the body.

DO NOT SWALLOW THE OIL. It now contains parasites and bacteria!

DO NOT GARGLE IN THE THROAT -- THE OIL IS MEANT TO BE SWISHED IN THE MOUTH ONLY.

DON'T DO IT TOO VIGOROUSLY.  TAKE IT EASY.

HOW IT WORKS: The oil pulls all mucous, bacteria and toxins from your body through  your saliva. According to Ayurvedic medicine, mucous is a poison that  must be removed.

Note #1: Keeping the chin tilted up makes sure the oil gets to the back molars.

Note #2: The old school says that only cold pressed sesame  and sunflower oils produce favorable results. However, our readers  report success using other oils too.

Note #3: If after meals, wait at least 4 hours before you Oil Pull. After drinking, wait 1 hour.

Note #4: A worsening of symptoms is an excellent indication  that the disease/ailment is being cured.  The symptoms’ worsening is  known as the "healing crisis".

Note #5: Do not stop Oil Pulling if you feel aggravated  symptoms or heightened side effects after a day or two. Flu-like  symptoms, nausea, headache and diarrhea are generally indications of the  effectiveness of the detox process.  This is when most people quit.  But, don’t give up. As the toxins are removed, the symptoms will fade  and you’ll begin to feel better than ever.  Your body is healing.

Note #6: Will your dental fillings fall out? It's possible, but highly unlikely unless there is pre-existing damage or loose fillings.

Here's are a few paragraphs from Bharat Savur's article, regarding Dr Karsch’s method of oil pulling:

..."When Dr Karsch examined the gargled milk-white oil under a  microscope with 600 magnification, he saw live organisms swimming in it.  It's poisonous, so never swallow it, he warns. These poisons are  bacteria-embryos, which, if not eliminated, cause diseases. Apparently,  Dr Karsach cured his own chronic blood disease and 15-year-old  arthritis.

The first sign of improvement is in the teeth-they become firm and  white, he says. Other healing indications: fresh, relaxed feeling on  waking up, disappearing dark pouches below the eyes, anew appetite and  energy, better memory and deep sleep.

Dr Karsch swears by the mouth oil-wash for anything from  organ-disorders, skin-diseases, menstrual problems, paralysis to every  ache and it is in the human anatomy. You can gargle even when you have  fever, he says, adding, it takes any method from two days to a year to  cure a disease.

And if these claims sound exaggerated, he told a conference of Ukrainian cancer specialists, try out the process yourself.

Interestingly, Ayurveda advises oil gargling "to purify the  taste-buds and the entire system", as explained by Dr Deepak Chopra in  Perfect Health. According to this life science, the tongue is mapped by  organ-locations -- that is, each section of the tongue is connected to  the kidneys, lungs, spleen, liver, heart, pancreas, small intestines,  stomach, colon, and spine.

Thus, an oil-mouth-massage soothes and stimulates the key meridians  where taste meets organ. Simultaneously, as in any skin-massage, the  inner skin and lining of the mouth, palate and tongue become warm and  supple and the lubrication prevents dryness (the vatic effect).

In modern dietetics too, dryness is discussed. For example, lack of  Vitamin A (retinal) causes the outer lining of the eyeball to dry and  wrinkle, and affects vision.

And as any dietician would tell you, all oils contain 960 micrograms  of vitamin A per 10 gm (the recommended daily allowance of vitamin A per  adult is 600 micrograms). So, it's possible that oil gargling helps in  reaching the required retinal to the eyeballs and keeps them elastic and  smooth.

Likewise, the Ayurvedic `purification of taste-buds' also has its  equivalent in dietetics as `antioxidants'. Oxidation literally means  `the putrefaction of body-tissues'.

And oil-soluble vitamins, A, C, D, and E are antioxidants that  protect and prevent the decaying process and help maintain the integral  functioning of cell membranes. That's why, many people are ingesting  vitamin E pills to stem `aging' (oxidation)."

Try the following the next time you oil pull:

1. sit with good posture in a firm chair (not hunched forward over computer, sink, or desk).

2. put a pillow on your lap to support your arms. This will allow your neck and shoulders to relax a bit.

3. Be mindful of what you are doing; are you clenching your teeth?  are you pushing / thrusting your jaw forward or sideways? are you  tensing your tongue a lot? are you frowning or shrugging your shoulders  as you concentrate? These are all things to avoid.

4. Try to work slowly and keep your face and jaw as relaxed as  possible while working the oil. Your cheeks should be doing most of the  work. You could practice by moving air around in your mouth as if you  were swishing oil. I have a tendency to clench my teeth, so I monitor  that carefully.

5. Use your fingers to do gentle massage, or, better yet, get someone  to do it for you. The forehead, under the cheekbones, in front of the  ears, the scalp (especially over and behind ears), and gently under the  jawbone from the back, near the ears, out to under the chin. Gently  pulling the ear lobes down and slightly outward is also helpful.

I have been using unrefined sunflower oil for a little over a week  now and have a few thoughts to relay. My experience so far has been  good. My teeth are whiter and I feel that toxins are being pulled from  my body.

It seems to me that it is best to do the oil pulling in a relaxed  manner being gentle in your approach. And it is not necessary to slosh  continually. Take a break frequently and just let the oil sit there for a  little while. Keeping one's chin up all the time causes the oil to go  to the back of the throat and that causes a gag reflex so I've found  that looking down slightly while sloshing and then, every few minutes,  looking straight ahead and sloshing the oil back and forth between my  teeth reduces the gag sensation and still accomplishes drawing toxins  out.

Also, some folks are concerned about being perfect in their approach.  As a suggestion, don't worry about it. Worry itself interferes with  detoxing. If you ate recently and it is not convenient to wait awhile to  do the pulling, it is still better to do it than not doing the pulling  at all. I believe the point of doing it on an empty stomach is mainly  that the body will be more responsive to dumping toxins if it is not  digesting food at the same time, however, the pulling still has value.  The enzymes will draw out toxins no matter when you oil pull. If it is  unpleasant to keep the oil in your mouth for 15 to 20 minutes, hold it  as long as you can. If that is 5 minutes then you'll still receive  benefit and, with experience, your body will adapt to the experience and  keeping it in longer will probably become easier and easier.

Some people are also concerned about whether to use refined or  unrefined oil. It probably doesn't matter from the standpoint of  removing toxins. Sloshing the oil stimulates saliva production. Saliva  contains the enzymes for drawing out toxins. Polyunsaturated oils such  as sunflower and sesame may be more effective than saturated fats for  detoxing because the molecules of polyunsaturated are open ended and  attract and hold various substances. As is indicated, these oils become  ripe with bacteria, viruses, parasites, yeasts, etc. so spitting the  stuff out and rinsing thoroughly is a real good idea.

Tooth enamel: To get the best results from oil pulling I suggestion  you brush your teeth with non-fluoridated tooth paste. Fluoride  compounds harden the enamel, making it less porous. This is the effect  that is touted as helping to reduce cavities. What is not generally  brought out is that fluoride is indiscriminate in what it hardens.  Drinking fluoridated water, rinsing with fluoridated mouth washes and  brushing with fluoride tooth paste is serious overkill. Excess fluoride,  and it doesn't take much at all to be too much, causes teeth, bones and  soft tissue to become hard, even brittle. Brittle is not a good thing  in a living body. Also fluoride accumulates in the body, hardening what  it attaches to, and causes a person to feel more and more stiff. Enamel  is meant to be somewhat porous. The initial studies on the benefits of  fluoride were conducted in communities where the natural form, calcium  fluoride, was present in the water supply. Sodium fluoride is what is  generally added to city water supplies and tooth paste. This form is  very toxic. Even the calcium form can cause bones and so on to become  brittle if too much is taken. For instance, there is a herd of elk in  Yellowstone National Park who live in an area with high concentrations  of calcium fluoride in the water supply. They have much shorter life  spans than elk who drink from sources without significant amounts of  calcium fluoride. The elk who get a lot of fluoride develop brittle  bones and teeth, which break easily, and so die prematurely from  starvation and broken bones.

Saliva contains about 3 times more calcium than blood plasma. It is  thought by some that the reason for this is that our saliva can lay down  calcium on the teeth and repair minor cavities as well as strengthen  the enamel in general. Excess fluoride would interfere with this. And,  again, we benefit from very small amounts of fluoride. More in this case  is definitely not better. If you are concerned about getting enough  fluoride, rather than using fluoridated mouth washes and tooth paste,  drink a cup of green, white or black tea a day. These types of tea  supply plenty of naturally occurring fluoride.
